“Youth” ministry?

I was perusing the latest issue of CCM, and found an ad for the “CrossCulture Youth Ministry Summit,” an event that’s supposed to be all about influencing school-age kids to make a decision for Christ and live their lives accordingly. Then I looked at the bottom of the ad where the pictures of all the speakers were shown. I swear every speaker save for one or two was a guy over 50 with a receding hairline dressed in a suit and tie.

I wanted to see if this same ridiculousness was on their website, but apparently the lineup has changed a bit. This looks a bit more, uh, youth-oriented…

I was at the CrossCulture summit and it was very powerful. The “older” speakers were right on target with what everyone needed to hear. I know that I’m not alone in what I say. This conference was not for the youth but for the youth leaders / pastors. Next year go to it. Try to limit your reviews until you experience it yourself.
