They paved Motown, put up a parking lot
Maybe it’s just because I watched Standing in the Shadows of Motown recently, but I found this post at Kempa.com about the Motown Archives being demolished to make way for Super Bowl parking really depressing.
I mean, tearing down the building is one thing, but not archiving all the documents in it? And not just bureaucratic paperwork, but session notes and production details…sheesh.
Update: Geof points us toward photolog The Snowsuit Effort, which shows yet another side of Detroit you’re not likely to see during the Super Bowl.
