Data locusts

Data locusts have taken My Doc­u­ments (and, by exten­sion, my wife’s stuff, too). I won’t get into the details, but suf­fice it to say that the idea of back­ing up feels incred­i­bly ironic to me at this point, since it was an attempt to cre­ate a backup that caused this in the first place.

I’m not sure what’s worse — know­ing that all those files aren’t there, or being at work when it hap­pens so there’s noth­ing I can do about it for another few hours…
