the Outer Room

A few weeks ago, I promised I say some more about the Brant Christopher/Pamela Clark concert I helped organize at church. Promises are made to be broken…

However, I do want to mention the coffeehouse that has come into being from that concert. Carla and I are now not only part-time Christian musicians, but part-time managers of a Christian music venue in Portland, Maine. We call it the Outer Room Coffeehouse, based on a portion of Hebrews describing the “outer room” of the Tabernacle (and also because it had something of a ring to it).

My latest project has been trying to get a website up and running for the place, and all the pieces are finally complete. You can check it out here. And yes, it was made in Wordpress. Of course, not without some hacking to create static pages, link pages, etc. The photo gallery is powered by Coppermine, and the whole project has been mostly powered by caffeine. I’m pretty happy with it, especially for something that came together in only a few weeks. I’ll probably still be playing with CSS, etc, but for the most part, this should be it.

Cool site, I like the coffee cup logo at the top. Of course, working for an Internet company, and being a musician, how could I not love coffee! My band is playing at the House of David in OOB this Saturday. How far away are you from there? Oh, and I haven’t forgotten your CD. Maybe I can get the bandleader to do it for me? I can have him send it to the coffee house, and maybe we can get a gig out of it? Please please? You like Christian funk, right? :-)

We’re not too far from OOB…I’ll have to see what we’re up to. I’ve been wanting to check out House of David for a while.

You guys wouldn’t happen to be available to play Sept. 18th, would you? ;)

Sorry. I’m DJing a wedding that day. :-(

You have just got to checkout Miriam Sandler’s music.
Her voice is angelic and her lyrics must have come from Heaven.
