So long, Tom O’Dell

Edit (as of 5/8/06): For those of you who don’t feel like schlepping your way through hundreds of comments: yes, I know the knife show is back and on the air on your local PAX (or whatever they’re calling themselves now) affiliate. This post was written over 2 years ago, when the world was a much darker, O’Dell-free place. Read on, knowing that sometimes in life, there is a happy ending after all.

The Knife collector’s show is off the air. A cherished part of my recent past is now relegated to the scrap-pile of history.

Let me try to explain, here. When I lived with my buddy John 5–6 years ago, we both kept really odd schedules — his the schedule of a third-year college student, mine the schedule of a second-shift call-center rep. In other words, we both stayed up pretty late, usually watching TV.

One of our favorite pastimes was watching the Knife Collector’s Show on the Shop At Home network. At 2:30 Saturday morning, what could possibly be more entertaining than watching a large Southern man try to sell knives, spouting nonsensical wisdom while seemingly under the influence of way too much caffiene (or, perhaps some less legal stimulant)? Tom O’Dell, the main host of the show, gave us all these things and more.

He provided even more entertainment when he briefly took over the following night’s Sports Collectibles show, turning the phrases “Gem Mint 10″ (or, as O’Dell would say, “Jeeyim, mint, TIN!”) and his cry of salesmanly desperation,“They’re AUTOGRAPHED!” into instant comedy.

John and I recently tried to tune into Shop at Home late one Friday to see if O’Dell was still up to his old tricks. Sadly, he had been replaced by a sub-QVC level bland talking head selling jewelry. We held out hope that maybe Tom had been shuffled in the schedule, but now sadly the worst has been confirmed.

Thanks for the memories, Mr. O’Dell. May you and your knife-selling buddy Shaun Leflar live to hawk one more Conan the Barbarian special.

tom odell now has a new show of his own, entitled cutlery corner. the website for the show is http://www.cutlerycorner.com. he’s the ceo of the ‘network’ and has a new co-host, named todd. check it out. the quality of the show is so much cheaper than even that of his former network, they’re always dropping things and he has his step daughter, michelle, working for him, as well. i thought my life was over, also, until i stumbled upon his broadcast last sunday morning. check it out.

I have recently started to watch cutlery corner and i love it. Tom’s co-host Todd Boone is a ass though and trashes Tom constantly and it’s pissing me off because much like you folks i share a deep love for Tom O’Dell. Have you seen the clip from the Shop-At-Home network where the katana breaks and stabs the other guy in the stomach and Tom just walks out laughing. It is at ebaumsworld.com under the video part, you have to check it out, i will get the link as soon as possible

Who has had the most influence on my life you ask? Well I’m sure there are great deals of people that have had a large impact on my life. Is it my dad? Or maybe it’s my mom, or brothers, or even a teacher that showed extra interest. Although all of these people have changed my life in some large way, there is still one man who stands out in my mind when posed this question. And that man is Tom O’Dell.
Some may ask, “Who is this Tom O’Dell?” Well to those people I would laugh, because I believe that in this day and age in which there is such a vast love for cutlery, and cutlery collecting is one of the fastest growing hobbies in the world it is foolish to say that you haven’t heard his name mentioned. Even if it were just whispered in legendary stories that seem unbelievable.
Tom O’Dell is the host of the Cutlery Corner Network. If you tune in every Sunday morning at 12:00 a.m. and again on Thursday at 12:05 a.m. you can watch Tom throw out endless amounts of nonsensical knowledge about cutlery. Their main goal is to get high quality cutlery straight from the factory to the consumer. Tom sells everything from swords to pocket knives at unbeatable low prices. As Tom says, “If you find a better price anywhere I will eat a big bug!”
Their prices at times are so unbelievable that their charismatic host can not even believe them. He has often times mumbled and stuttered through many statements he is in such shock. Once they sold a set of 73 pocket knives for mere pennies on the dollar. It was only $89.99, which broke down to only $1.15 a knife. Some of which could sell for up to $19.95 on the retail market! You may not realize what this means but let me pose this situation to you. Suppose you wanted to resell all of these knives, you could turn a profit of nearly $1300 if you sold each knife for $19.95. Of course I don’t know why you would want to since every single one of the knives that Tom sells you is sharp enough to cut threw a single run sheet.
Mr. O’Dell has a vast knowledge of all sorts of cutlery, but his specialty is “bigguns” as he likes to call them. Bigguns are any bowie that is twelve inches and up. Tom is the man who made these types of knives popular in the mainstream world of cutlery collecting, but that isn’t the only type of sharp object that he can enlighten you on. Once, while selling a collection of swords which included a replicate of the Highlander sword, Tom effectively showed his vast audience how to wield the sword and explained how they were safely carried in medieval times.
Sadly Tom O’Dell’s cutlery selling career nearly ended before it began. Years ago, before Tom started Cutlery Corner; O’Dell worked on the Shop-At-Home Network hosting their knife collecting show. He was backed up by his co-host Shaun Leflar, who was not quite the connoisseur of cutlery as Tom O’Dell is, but what he lacked in knowledge and experience he made up with charisma. Their chemistry together was amazing, and their on-air banter and shots at one another entertained viewers and moved the merchandise off the shelves at an astonishing rate. But late one night while they were shooting this program live, tragedy struck the set of the Shop-At-Home Network. Shaun was selling a set of practice katanas. As he started to demonstrate the durability of the blade by beating it on the counter, the blade failed him. It snapped in two and the nose of the sword flipped back toward Shaun and severed his stomach. As he fell to the floor crying for Tom’s help, O’Dell coolly and calmly walked onto the set to try and settle the shocked customers at home. However, try as he may, you could see the fear in Tom’s eyes. Was he going to lose his co-host? Would this faulty blade be the end to his friend’s life?
Luckily for us all it wasn’t. The EMTs arrived in time to perform some life saving emergency surgery right there on the set. Shaun was fine but his career in cutlery dealing was not. He was too traumatized to continue. Tom is a different story. He was able to pick back up the pieces and start anew. Giving up his one true calling and love was unthinkable to him. But Tom O’Dell was furious with his old network for trying to pass of second rate cutlery as being high quality. That is when he decided to started Cutlery Corner. He is determined never to present another poor quality sword or knife to his audience ever again.
Over the past few weeks that I have been watching Tom O’Dell’s show I have learned more than I ever imagined that I would about cutlery. I have been shown the beautiful light of this new hobby and as strange as it may sound to you, I feel that I have made a new friend in the process. Every Sunday and Thursday morning when I tune in to watch more fine Frost Cutlery products be sold by Tom it seems to me that when he pretends to beat his co-host with a hammer or slices threw a sheet of paper with a room temperature knife like a hot knife threw a stick of butter, I feel like he is doing that all for me.

  14. Slartibardfast Says:

I’ve been watching Tom O’Dell for years on both HSN and now CCN, but I never knew about Shawn’s “self stabbing incident”. You may laugh at his sales pitch, you may laugh at the products he sold, but you have to admit, Shawn is one tough customer. How may people do you know who have been stabbed with a sword, and still had the presence of mind to walk off camera before collapsing? :)

Tom is still selling the “Self Stabbing Katana” on his web site: http://www.cutlerycorner.net/productDetail.asp?id=165&pc=8 It’s only $29.95, you can’t stab your self with a sword cheaper than that!

By the way, if your wondering who would buy pocket knifes and bowies buy the dozen, just do a search on eBay for “Panther Bowie” or “Undertaker Bowie” and all will be made clear to you….

P.S. I was watching CCN thrusday night and I must say that $59.00 for a Naginata is a steal, so what are you waiting for call now!

  15. Slartibardfast Says:

On a serious note, I believe someone above asked why HSN stopped showing The Knife Collectors Show. I believe the reason for the cancellation of both The Knife Collectors Show and the departure of Don West, (the loud mouthed baseball card guy), was the change in ownership of HSN. Controlling interest in HSN was bough by the group that owns both the Food Channel and Home And Garden Television. They wanted to take the HSN image upscale, and attract the same sort of viewers as their other channels. Sadly, two foot long knifes, and Scottish claymores, (bigger than the people selling them), did not fit into the new image.

P.S. If you miss Don West he now does play-by-play for the NWA:TNA wrestling television show IMPACT: http://www.nwatna.com/superstars/main_stars.shtml

  16. AJ Says:

What channel is Cutlery Corner Network on??????? I don’t see that channel listed for either DirecTV or Adelphia cable.

    Thanks!

  17. Slartibardfast Says:

Cutlery Corner Network is not actually a network, nor is it a channel, it’s just the name they give to the 3 hour block of television time they purchase to do their show with. In essence, CCN is just another infomercial.

In Alabama CCN actually comes on the PAXSAT channel, which is 78 on the Knology cable system. The “TV Guide” on my Tivo, (yes I realize how sad it is that I Tivo this), lists the show name as “Knife Show”. Try looking for a program called “Knife Show” on your cable/satellite system. If you don’t find it that way, they may not list it as “Knife Show” buy may instead call it “Paid Programming” as they do with most of the “shows” that are infomercials.

  18. Tony Says:

    OH MY GOD!!
Other fans of “The Knife Show” while I didn’t watch the show they had on the shopping network, I do however, make a weekly visit to my friends house to catch it on DirectTV every Saturday at 10 till 1 and laugh hardaly at the man himself Tom Odell.

Me and my coherts stumbled upon this show probably how every other Cutlery Corner fan has, smoking pot, drinking beers and channel surfing, and am I ever glad of finding this gem of a show. While other waste there time on lame ass situational comedies and reality based television shows, I have found a friend in Tom Odell.

Finally a well-deserved tribute to the man who knew how to bust out them Biggens! I Loved Tom O’ Dell and Leflar. Along with Don West (who sold baseball cards ) and Rob Chambes who sold coins. They were the best thing about Shop At Home(not to be confused with HSN) Their style blended entertainment and salesmanship in the best way and in the process made SAH refreshingly different from the triteness of bigger rivals like QVC and HSN.

i just recently started watching. i have worked for the BSA Supply Div for 25 years. I work in customer service(which may I add yours definently needs some improvement). In have been exposed to a lot of different knives and vendors. I ordered a pkg for 89.95. Tactical Remix. I was impressed. I took them to work and showed them to the Merchandising buyer for our camping supplies. He was impressed! That sold me! I had originally planned to give these as Christmas gifts but once I received the shipment and saw how many and how nice mopst of them were I changed my mind. I am planning to set up my son-in-law to sell them at a boot at the flea market in Dallas, NC Gaston CO. tHERE ARE A LOT OF good old boys there in that area. I was really impressed with the propduct. The thing I am disappointed in is your Customer Service dept. I could explain but just from one order and one shipment I have had at least 3 questions and one problem with my shipment. I cannot get a concrete answer. That makes we a little skeptical. I know from watching last Sun. morning (2 AM or so) you do not spend a lot of money on the props and such. There was a rock holding up a table and attention on the air was given to it. Which I thought was great. But when I call and ask a question OR make a second order but instead of my debit card I elect to pay by money order for my 2nd 200.00 order Jason calls me on 10–26 and tells me my card was denied for my order. I calmly infoprm him I paid with my card the first order I made but do not my account charged for this more recent order. I would be mailing a money order. He called me but I got the feeling I was bothering him. So wrong! I did call customer service yesterday to tell them one of the knives I received Did not have a dragon on the blade as pictured. His name was JD and he was most helpful. My situation was resolved quickly and efficiently. JD did not sigh in my ear. I could actually imagine his face from our phone conversation. (Although I do admitt I have a lot of experience with this) I am not hard to please I just hate bad customer service. To close may I say for someone that had no real interest in knives except for a 17 year old son that has always had some type of collection and a father that deer hunts religiously every year. I have an awareness but nothing until your show has sparked that in me. What a great show. I love it. It is informative and comical. If I could find out what time and channel you come on for Direct TV which I have, I could have a lot of people watching your show. I have talked about it a lot. But my calender I received in my shipment is for Dish Network. I tuned in @ 9 and 10 tonight. NO KNIFE SHOW. I called customer service. EXCUSE ME AS THEY CORRECTED ME I got the Sales dept. Must call back between 9–5 tomorrow for customer service to get the correct days and times to WATCH THE SHOW.(I HAD 3 PEOPLE IN MY LIVING ROOM READY TO SEE THE SHOW) NO GO. Whatever you want to call it, let me tell you from experience that was BAD customer service. Anyway, thank you. You have truely entertained me @ 3 in the morning when I could not sleep and found your show by chance just channel surfing. I MAY be ordering again. I really got some nice feedback on your products. Tina Long Charlotte, NC

I’ve watched the Knife Shows for about 9 years…first on Shop at Home with Tom O’Dell, Todd Boone & Shawn Lefler (yes, Todd used to work with both of them). Then Todd left & became high society having the Collectible Knives show on HSN. That’s when Shawn joined Tom. There used to be some wild times with the knives on Shop At Home.…I loved the big block of wood they used to stick the knives in…or tried to. Now Todd is also on the sister station of HSN…something like Shop America selling knives. I had no idea he was back with Tom O’Dell on another channel…I never realized you could become a TV icon by selling knives but I guess I was wrong. My favorite host was some guy that had a shop at home show about 9 years ago named Chris. He was usually alone & tried to sell stuff he had bought (coins, jewelry). He would get so mad when folks wouldn’t call in and bid on them — it was a riot. I think he might have had some mental issues from the looks of it. Yep, those late hours watching shopping channels can really get you in trouble…just ask a friend of mine who has cases of knives that he bought from Todd & me who has a set of three Spanish Bowie knives…what was I thinking????

  28. Slartibardfast Says:

This is a little off topic but…

As I’m sure you’re all aware, the results of Tuesday night may well change the course of our nation forever. I’m not going to tell you what you should do, but I’m sure you realize that making the wrong choice will lead to repercussions that could be felt by generations to come. Although mistakes have been made in the past, (of which I’m sure we are all aware), that is no reason not to do what is best for this country and support the man that has done the best possible job under the most difficult of circumstances.

Hey, what are you getting so bent out of shape over? What? No, I’m not taking about the presidential election you fool, I’m taking about something far more important! This Tuesday night, (Wednesday at morning at midnight to be exact), our man Tom O’dell will launch the debut edition of THE COIN COLLECTORS SHOW!!!!!!!!!

That right, what Tom has done to bowies, and tactical folders he’ll be doing with quarters, doubloons, and proofs! I’m calling upon every American to turn out on Tuesday night, and make the right choice buy picking up their remote control and tuning in to the most important event in the history of late night sales. If this show becomes a hit who knows where it could end? First knifes, then coins; can sports collectables be to far behind? We could have a return to the Golden Age of Shop At Home!!! So come on people, put aside your partisan bickering and for one night, for one three hour programming block, let us stand side by side, hand in hand, and cry out to the Shop At Home Network in one voice, “YOU CAN FIRE OUR FAVORITE HOST, BUT YOULL NEVER TAKE AWAY OUR BOWIES!!!!!!!!!”

  29. andrew Says:

  34. Inuyasha Says:

It’s nice to see a tribute on Mr O’dell. The man was a class act. He deserved an Emmy for the shows he did with Shawn Leflar. BTW I can’t believe they let him (O’dell) host a sports collectibles show on SAH, Don West selling sports cards is hillarious, but Odell doing sports would be a riot! Does anybody have a tape of it?

  35. Jeff Says:

oh man what did Tom say about ky jelly? i just heard him say a wasp got into the studio to get in on the big savings.

  36. Slartibardfast Says:

Fortunately, Tom’s KY comment was very brief. Todd was has in full sales pitch mode, extolling the virtues of the katana he has holding. He began to explain that since the blade was made of carbon steel, (as opposed the 440c), it would be shipped with a light layer of oil to prevent rusting. He remarked that oil was “good stuff”, at which point Tom added “Yeah, just like KY”.

This brought the show to a halt for about 2 seconds, as Todd had to compose himself, while Tom just stood there looking at him with a “I bet you didn’t think I would say that on TV.” look on his face.

Rumor has it Sean survived a normally fatal Katana self-wounding with the help of Don West and a stack of Mark McGuire rookie cards to stop the bleeding.

  42. Bluechip Says:

LOL I miss Don West hocking the gem mint 10’s of Tiger Woods cards and the Blue Chip boxes.

Greetings fellow fans of cutlery, y’see. My friends and I have been viewing the fantastic antics of one Tom O’Dell for over three months now, and we had basically just assumed that we were insane for loving it so much, but you have allayed our suspisions. We have made a practice of recording Tom and our commentary on a mp3 player, and have assembled a small collection. http://www.purevolume.com/cutlercorner We rotate clips and put new ones up there periodically when we get them. We were also plannin some designs for some shirt, if anyone would be interested email me gandalf_the_gray25801@yahoo.com , and i’ll explain the design, and if you would be interested we will be distributing them.

THIS IS WITHOUT DOUBT A SWORD DEAL, THAT IS LITERALLY.….. A SWORD DEAL TO BE RECKONED WITH!!!“

  45. andrew Says:

This is just positively brilliant. Thank you for bringing some O’Dell into all of our lives.

  46. Brian Butcher Says:

Well I must say that cutlery corner is one of the greatest shows of our age… in fact it is the only show that i watch on television. It is so incredibly funny. I was the one that made those beautiful recordings and i can be heard making comments on it. I must say that my saturdays are made brighter just by watching this show and its existence has improved my quality of life!

  47. Geoff Says:

I think one of the great moments from the Tom O’Dell/Shawn Leflar era was when the two of them were selling one of those grab-bags where you don’t know what you’re getting (presumably 20 of the same knife). Anyway, Tom would asssure us that “Jerry in the back of the warehouse fills these orders, and he makes sure EVERY order goes out PACKED with VALLLL-YOOUUUU

Wednesday’s (2/2) Cutlery Corner featured Tom rambling on and on about growing up in the woods and being a good ol’ boy — I assume this is par for the course.

  52. LINDSAY Says:

Preferably autographed, but any picture will do. Even online. So if anyone knows of good pictures of Tom, or even his sidekick Tod, let me know. THANKS!

  62. Gregg Stalter Says:

Too Kewl! I live in the northwoods and just ran into Tom and Todd since I am up at night because of the pain I am in a whole nights sleep just does not happen. They are great and Tom rules. I watch them over anything else on Direct TV and 100 whatever channels. I haven’t bought anything yet but I wouldn’t know what to do with any more knives than what I already have and the money isn’t there since my accident. I love these guys so tell em another woodsie guy that lives in a log cabin says keep on with it all! They are my early morning entertainment! I wouldn’t know what to do without ‘em!

  67. Tanqueray Texas Says:

Holy christ. Before i had satellite i had only basic cable and my friends and I used to come home from the bars, drunk as hell, and then we’d get stoned and try to find something funny on TV to watch. many a night we would settle for the hillarity of Tom O’Dell. we often called his 1–800 number to f**k with his staff but unfortunately now we are blocked.

  68. Michael McNeely Says:

Hey Chris Helms, Can I get a autographed picture of Tom & Todd as well? Me and my son stay up just to watch the most entertaining program on TV these days. We are both into knives and I have ordered different sets and I am very pleased with their quality. But to tell you the truth, it’s Toms “plain ole” talk and salemanship that convinced me. Loved the show, and I look foward to it’s airing every week. Tom rules!

  69. Tom O'Dell Says:

You just never know what you’ll find if you ‘google your name’. That dude was pretty entertaining. I would flip through channels late at night and hear my name… just couldn’t help but to watch it for about 30 minutes after that. While drinking one night, damn near almost bought some frigging knives and a big ass samarai-lookin sword!

  70. Chris Helms Says:

Tom O’Dell” you just wish you were Tom. As for the rest of ya’ll that want autographs, I will take my digital camera in for the Wednesday night show and get a photo. Email me at helmsc@comcast.net and we will work out postage. I don’t think he will mind autographing 12 or so 8x10’s

  71. Chris Helms Says:

Did anyone catch the Cleaning Kit presentation about 30 minutes into the show tonight? Todd let it slip and called it a “Cleaning Clit”. lol

  72. Thomas Says:

WHAT ARE Y’ALL TALKING ABOUT!! I WATCHED KNIFE SHOW 2 NIGHTS AGO (then again I have sattelite).…it was only like 11 at night.….…I’m glad I’m not the only person who loves to see him make a fool of himself. One time.…he had this knife and was pretending it was a penguin (making quacking noises) HI-LARIOUS!!! I’ve never watched his coin show…but it’s coming on @ midnight 2 night…so I’ll check it out. Hmmmmm

  73. Chris Helms Says:

I never got any response concerning the autographed pictures of Tom. I have asked him about it and he is game to autograph for whoever wants them. Email me at helmsc@comcast.net to work out postage.

  74. Alan Says:

Hey Chris, I want an autograph, but i guess since i work there with you, i should just ask him, what do you think?…I know he always asks me to give the customers the best price possible.…Oh, in case you don’t know…i do work at the show with Chris…i’m in the control room…

  75. Chris Helms Says:

Alan, you don’t need an autograph where you are going…just a “biggun” bowie. btw…if you talk to jessica before you leave tell her she still owes me that date ;)

  81. Warren Says:

I’m Jen’s boy friend. There have been many nights where we are trying to fall asleep and we burst into fits of giggling and one of us will quote Tom… “An actualy DEPLICTION of Robin Hood on the sword.” or, “We pet him once a week wether or not he needs it.”.

Who knows more/less about knives? God or Tom? IT’S A TRICK QUESTION! Tom IS God! LOL

  82. Jen Says:

Yet another classic line from Mr O’Dell last night when he mentioned the price of steel going up…

You turn off them lousy movies on Skinimax and HoeTime late at night and jump on over to the Cutlery Corner for some real down home entertainment. Get yourself a BIGGUN!!

  93. Jasen Says:

Tom is the best. My wife and I have been watching for some time. I have read all of your postings about Tom and Todd. Tom is great but Todd needs to go. There is one person on the show that none of you mention, the cameraman Tick. We have turned many of our friends onto this show and they all love it, but we all agree that Tick needs more face-time. Put Todd behind the camera. I think it is great that Tom has such a large following. There is nothing better than watching him when he brings out my favorite BOOOOEEE, TOMZILLA. If I could just buy TOMZILLA, instead of 187 knives for $1.23 each, I would be inclined to purchase it just to be the first of my friends to own one. If every one of you Tom lovers would just tell your friends to watch, it wont be long before Tom’s show is bigger than QVC.

  94. Steve McQueen Says:

Tom is an outright legend!! Not only does he distribute a wonderful high quality product, he also entertains the masses with the ease of a court jester. Tom has taken the somewhat mundane job of selling knives and turned it into an art form. I do however, agree with an earlier posting made by “Jasen.” Tick needs more face-time!!! Tick seems to be very comical and an entrepneural genius. I think the show and its loyal following would both benefit from Todd and Tick swapping roles. Todd seems to bring the show down much like a pay toilet in a diarrhea ward. I was relieved to find this website and learn that I was not the only passionate Tom O’Dell fan!!

  95. Bo Says:

Best show ever. Found it 3 nights ago and fell in love.

Where can I get that DVD ?

  96. Josh Says:

does anyone have any footage of don west from his shop at home days?? will pay $$$ for any tapes or dvds of this great man! please email me bigcheese211@yahoo.com Seems like every day I get someone call in say “Don, I’d like to buy that hall of fame set” or “i’d like to buy the grand slam ventures tiger at 5,000 buck” but the fact is, folks, if you missed it, then you missed it. There’s no going back in time here, folks, so be sure you get verified on more than one. — Don West

  97. #1 Tom Fan Says:

I LOVE TOM O’DELL HE’S THE BEST, LAST NITE HE WAS EATING PUMPKIN PIE AND SHOWING THE CAMERA WHILE TODD TRIED TO BE ALL SERIOUS AND SELL A DEAL. TOM IS A GENIUS SALESMAN

  98. BUBB RUBB MACINTUBB Says:

I think Mr. Thomas O’dell is one of the most entertaining people on television. With deals like “Todd’s Backdoor Blowout” and the infamous Red Bone Muskrat Skinner, how could you not love him? There is nothing like a lonely weekend night with a few beers and Tom.

  99. Tyler Says:

Mr. Thomas O’dell is the greatest man to ever live. I was watching some fine Cutlery the other night and Tom was goofing on Todd, as usual. The “kit name” was called Todd’s Paradise. Tom came on first and said, “This is Todd’s Paradise: No women! Just good ol’ Tom O’Dell and fine knives of Cutlery!” I laughed so hard I nearly pissed my pants.

  100. Harold Says:

dude that show isnt off the air, i just watched it this morning and bought some stuff off there.…sheesh someone must not paid their cable bill and hasn’t realized it.….

  101. Craig Says:

Yeah, I watch the Knife Show all the time. I never knew that there were more people like me and my friends who like to laugh at the hilarious antics of Tom.

  102. johnnie Says:

Yeah, I watch the Knife Show all the time. even if I did not buy somthing every night i just enjoyed watching the show for the laugh at the hilarious antics of Tom.

  103. Walt Says:

Does Cutlery Corner broadcast on (Time Warner) cable anymore? An email to Tom O’Dell broiught no response.

  104. andrew Says:

My buddy John claims he’s seen Cutlery Corner on our local PAX affiliate (or whatever they’re calling themselves these days) — he has Time Warner Cable in Southern Maine.

    YMMV.

  105. Without Tom Says:

I live in the suburbs of Detroit and we used to have the pleasure of viewing Mr. Tom O’Dell. I am really upset that the PAX network that we used to watch him on no longer has the show on or at least that I’ve seen. If anyone knows if this show comes on in the Detroit area, please let me know what channel and time it comes on. For now the only time I can laugh my ass off is if I watch their taped shows on http://www.cutlerycorner.net Its just not the same watching it on the computer. Maybe they stopped airing it in our area because we pranked the show to much! Oh, well long live Tom O’Dell and his great art of selling knives!

  106. Chad Says:

  108. Brad Says:

I can’t believe no one has mentioned the beanie babies don west used to sell on shop at home, that was funnier than than the sports collectables. I just purchased a small set of knives to test them out, i could buy one knife for fifty bucks or i could buy 26 knives for 45 bucks. I just had to pull the trigger sooner or later.

  109. Holly Says:

It’s still on. You just have to look for it. You can still get your DRAGON SLAYER FANTASY knife. Do you think his sidekick will ever stab him for always interrupting him?

  110. Don Says:

    To Holly: I hope not

Ton’s not just a talent, he’s an institution.

  111. Don Says:

By the way I just want to inform you all that Shop at Home, the old home of Tom’s knife show (as well as the Don West Sports Show and other entertaining late night shopping. is going out of business. IMO serves them right!

  112. Shane Says:

My friends and I were watching last night, which we have not done in a while, and we were dismayed to discover that Tom was nowhere to be found, and had been replaced by a lame woman. We proceeded to call, of course, and inquire as to Tom’s whereabouts, and were further dismayed to discover that there is a possibility that Tom will be fired from Cutlery Corner! This is terrible news, and I think we should travel to TN and protest until they re-establish Tom as the head of operations.

  113. Slartibardfast Says:

I got the impression from this weekends show that Tom is just on vacation or doing something else that has taken him off camera temporaraly. They also mentioned the closing of Shop At Home, in what I think was a little dig. If Tom doesn’t come back I’d imagine their viewership will drop. I’m hoping the King of Biggins will be back Saturday morning.

  114. letthebrotherreceivethelight Says:

You guys and gals are making it too hard on Todd Boone. He is an integral part of cutlery corner and with his mullet haircut and good ole boy drawl, he fits right in. Long live Tom and Todd!

  115. Shop At Home is Back, but is O'Dell? Says:

Shortly after posting the news of SAH’s closing, I was pleased to hear that Jewlery TV bought the network from its old owner EW Scripps and has reverted the network to its’ old collectibles format. including the return of knives . Last week I managed to catch a show with Todd Boone and Shawn Leflar, and i’ve heard rumors that they have brought, or are bringing O’Dell back, is this true?
could this eventually lead to the return of the glory days of the best
biggens-busting Knife Show in the world?

  116. King James Says:

Oh my God…I used to watch the KCS all the time a few yers back…and actually bought “the Zatoichi sword” from them.

And not only did I find the new Knife Collector’s Show on tonight…but then I find this page. Not only do I see that good old Tom’s alive and well, and with a new website…but I also get to see a clip of Leflar acting like a complete dumbass and (deservedly) paying for it by getting a broken blade in the gut.

This is the greatest night of my entire life.

Now if only O’Dell would come punch out this “Todd Boone” guy and stand next to Leflar where he really belongs. C’mon, Shop At Home.

  120. Editortr Says:

Chris was the MAN! I agree with the post above that he may have been a little deranged sometimes — very patriotic and sometimes a little too heavy on the religion but he did have product — strange as it was. Anybody have a clue what happened to him?

O’Dell and his crew are clearly the remnants of the Deliverance woodsmen — O’Dell may actually be the Banjo Boy all growed up. Don’t get me wrong — I have bought knives from them and I do have a modest collection. I just always figured O’Dell was the reason they invented TIVO, either that or the MUTE button on the remote.

Actually, I’m disappointed that they re-run their shows on subsequent nights instead of having new STUPENDOUS deals every danged night!

  121. Kathy O'Dell Says:

I can’t believe Tom has such a following. But I am very pleased for him. I am Tom’s sister-in-law and have known Tom for over 20 years. He is just like you see him on TV. Except maybe funnier. Tom is a great guy and every bit the out doorsman he claims to be. I am sure he appreciates all who watch his shows.

  122. David Says:

Man, I am amazed some enterprising sort hasn’t slapped up a site for the world’s greatest media personality — TOM ODELL. Clearly there is a need and someone should fill it. I have spent the last hour online trying to locate anything about our hero, and it’s tough going. Anyone else have any info on his location? The Cutlery Network site says to check their calender for show times… but none are listed! HELP!

I recall coming home late from working the second shift one night and thinking about how badly my life was going down the toilet when I plopped onto the couch and found Tom’s Show.

For the next 2 hours I was riveted to the screen for what was some of the best, most entertaining tv I had ever seen, watching that almost hypnotic crosscut log on the turntable spinning round and round as Tom planted countless examples of the world’s finest collector 440 surgical steel into that rotating log while declaring in the full Tom delivery, “Bigguns or Bust!”

Tom, ya may have saved my life that night, and I thank you for all that youve given to those of us on the “night shift” since!

  124. John Hunt Says:

I’ve been a fan of the show for a long time. I have never ordered anything because I assume that for this price the knives must be novelty items with very low quality and that they are to collect only. I agree that the show is very entertaining, but in all honesty.. What is the quality of the knives?
After reading this thread I think I’m going to place an order and see for myself.

  125. Slartibardfast Says:

What does everyone think about Tom’s new female assistant? Personaly I miss the days when he did the show with Shawn.

P.S. Kathy, make sure to tell Tom about this web site!

  126. Chris Helms Says:

Slartibardfast, Tom knows about this site. I showed it to him before they moved from Newport to Dandridge last year.

As for a Tom O’Dell website, I can host one on my home computer if “ya’ll” are interested. I could even do a domain name if I could get donations.

  127. Slartibardfast Says:

A Tom O’Dell website would be great. I’ll look around and see if there is a way to do it for free. All it would take is a free blog or wiki type of site, and the ability to add links to clips from youtube. Maybe a site like blogger.com would do the trick. It would be nice if it was an “open” site so anyone could post there. Again, I’ll look around.

  128. David Says:

I actually do run some web sites, and it can be done for about $15 a month. I’d want to get as much video up as possible of course, and I’d feel the need to have Mr. Odell’s blessing. We could run a forum and that sort of thing, and provide a central location for all things Tom. The idea that the only place for fans to meet on the entire www is here is goofy. Also, I’ve sent several e-mails to his current employer asking for some kind of schedule and they’ve never responded. I can be reached at this proxy e-mail address if anyone wants to make an attempt at a “next step”. Here’s hoping we can get something going!

  129. Rick Early Says:

Hey Guys, If you go back to Oct. 26, 2004 of this thread, you’ll see what a true fan I am of these guys. If any of you are interested, my son, a friend of his, and myself, created somewhat of a parody/tribute video to Shaun Leflar and Tom’s antics on http://www.YouTube.com

The name of the video I uploaded is called, “The Knife Show”. We simply loved those guys and usually tried to work in some type of crazy assed antic of them every time we got together.

As a side note, Slartibardfast, do you recognize the name “LazGunX” by any chance ;-) If so, such a coincidence, and you’ll know who I am.

Shaun and O’Dell are still the kings baby!

    Rick Early

  130. David Says:

How is it all these people can love this so much and no one will get them a show? I watch these guys read the phone book.

  131. Rick Early Says:

Sorry, on the post above where I mentioned for all of you to go check out the Shaun and O’Dell comedy bit, I didn’t give you the proper link.

(YouTubes search engine really sucks and you probably won’t be able to find it by searching on “The Knife Show”)

    Try this link:
    http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lazgunx&search=Search

If that doesn’t work, just go to YouTube, then do a search on LazGunX and that video will come up as an option.

It’s no Eddy Murphy, but have a great time immitating the fun and chemistry those guys had.

    Enjoy.

    Rick (LazGunX)

  132. Rick Early Says:

BTW: Feel free to click on the “Leave Comment” link after you watch the clip above and let me know what you think about our crazy assed/fun little video. lol

I think we’re going to do another one and actually create a set like Shaun and O’Dell had, and do a full length “reality” parody of the actual show. I’ll keep you guys up to date. Let’s keep our boys in the spot light. Someone’s bound to take note of what a following these guys had/still have.

    Rick (LazGunX)

  133. Chris Helms Says:

David… you wanted the times Cutlery Corner are on air. From Alan, the graphics person, here they are.

Wed., Fri., Sat. and Sun all are 9pm-4am EST.

I am not sure about other time zones.

  134. Slartibardfast Says:

I just saw Shaun selling knifes and swords again on Shop At Home, I though they stopped doing that a few years ago? Perhaps we will get a reunion sometime soon?

Remember if you miss Tom he can always been seen here: http://www.cutlerycorner.net/showvideo.asp

P.S. Rick Early that was a funny video clip. You guys should do a 3 minute knife collectors show parody.

  135. Fan of Don Lapre Says:

  136. Slartibardfast Says:

Tom has disappeared from by cable provider, (Knology), has he left anyone else?

  137. El Pierco Says:

Same here… used to watch Tom every Saturday night. We recorded it many times, made the pure volume account, suffered through the long nights of just Todd and that other girl. Then when our waiting finally paid off and Tom returned to us, the damn provider yanked it. Bastards.

  138. north carolin Says:

Getting ready to watch at 9pm on time warner cable tonight. Is anything they sale worth buying? Im being serious.

  139. Slartibardfast Says:

    North Carolin,

I think their “display” pieces are just that, for display only. You don’t want to swing around those swords, or even worse hit anything with them. As for their pocket knifes, I imagine they are as good as any pocket knife you would find at your local Walmart or outdoor supply store. As for Tom’s “biggins”, again I think they are just display pieces, (which can be had for about $20 a piece on ebay).

With that in mind, if your looking for a typical pocket knife/folder, or more likely 70 of them, Tom just might be your man.

Heck, even I wouldn’t mind having a Delta Ranger or two. :)

  142. Slartibardfast Says:

I love Tom’s new whisper sales technique. The man is brilliant!

  143. Slartibardfast Says:

How long before Shela loses a finger? She is constantly sticking the folders into the stumps without first locking the blades into place. She’s been lucky so far, but how long can her luck run?

  144. spurfan Says:

Tom O’dell for president. I’m serious. Also, we think Sheila is a fine addition to the show. And I do mean fine.

  145. o'dell's ghost Says:

o dell looks sickly! the man has lost half of his body weight since his heyday in the knife show!

  146. Slartibardfast Says:

I think Tom saw that video footage of himself on Kimmel and decided that he needed to drop the weight so that when Hollywood calls next time, he will be ready!

P.S. I don’t think he looks sick, but his face does have that look a person gets when they lose a great deal of weight very quickly.

P.S.S. Every pound Tom loses, Todd gains.

P.S.S.S I’m surprised they don’t have Sheila try to “sexy” the show up a little.

  147. andrew Says:

P.S.S.S I’m surprised they don’t have Sheila try to “sexy” the show up a little.

Weren’t they trying to do that toward the end of O’Dell’s time on Shop At Home? I seem to recall reading an article about them holding auditions for a “knife girl” to join O’Dell and Leflar…

  148. Slartibardfast Says:

andrew said: ” Weren’t they trying to do that toward the end of O’Dell’s time on Shop At Home? I seem to recall reading an article about them holding auditions for a “knife girl” to join O’Dell and Leflar…”

I don’t remember, but I’m betting your right, seeing as Shop At Home is selling knives again with Todd Boone, and they have teamed him up with a knife babe. They have her in a low cut sleeveless, spaghetti strap top.

  149. Slartibardfast Says:

Marketing genius! Now Tom is selling a knife/sword set, and he won’t tell you what the price is! You have to call up in order to find out the cost.

P.S. Looks like Tom broke his leg. He has a cast, and did the latest show while sitting in a chair, while Shela did all the physical work.

  150. cjwalton Says:

Last night he actually called himself a “one-legged man;” my wife and I couldn’t quite decide whether he has actually lost a leg or not. He looks ill. The left leg looked artificial below about the knee. Hadn’t tuned in for a while; hope he’s there next time I do.

  151. Slartibardfast Says:

It does look like he has a prosthetic leg from the knee down, but I can’t be sure. Does anyone know anything about this?

    I hope he’s ok…

  152. Slartibardfast Says:

The new show demonstrates the latest in early morning sales techniques. They now have Tom, Shelia, and Todd all talking over each other at the same time. I can’t understand what any of them are saying, but it must be important because they are all shouting. :)

  153. Slartibardfast Says:

Looks like they are breaking in a new guy…

  154. Slartibardfast Says:

The site is back! I was worried that it was gone forever.

one of my favorite O’dell quotes. It goes from intense to regular to intense. classic.

  156. Michael Maniscalco Says:

anyone ever hear the story Tom tells about the Mickey Mouse Bowie?

  157. Slartibardfast Says:

Mickey Mouse Bowie? I missed that one. Have they ever had one on the show?

  158. Nancy Odell Says:

Hey!…I Googled for jason o dell, but found your page about Dell…and have to say thanks. nice read.

  159. michael maniscalco Says:

I have a dvd where he tells a story about his first knife. A mickey mouse bowie. The knife was never on the show. Its only a story.

I can make copies. I was going to do this at one time but was really busy with work. well now I am semi retired. Send me your address to mjmaniscalco@hotmail.com and i will make you a copy.

  160. Slartibardfast Says:

    Michael,

  162. Doreen Larkin Says:

I just stumbled across this site and am SO HAPPY to see that I am not the only one out there recording The Knife Show. I started out watching Ron Popeil in college, and recently (several months ago) discovered Tom O’Dell. My family now watches The Knife Show regularly.

So I read above about someone who works in the studio obtaining autographed photos. I would DIE to get one of those. The post was from awhile back, but is this still a possibility??

  163. Jesse Says:

just wanted to announce that the knife show reunion is on right now

todd, tom, and shawn are talking about the good ol days

  164. todd Says:

I find something oddly comfortable with the show. Leflar is a little nutty but likable. Todd Boone cracks me up when he tells you the names of the knives. This one is the “howling wolf”, this one is the “Night Ranger”.

It’s funny how todd can’t pronounce “old”. “Told” becomes “toad”, “sold” becomes “sode”, “hold” becomes “hode”, and so on.

  165. andrew Says:

Reunion show??!? Please tell me someone DVRed this and is uploading it as a torrent soon…

  166. Russ Says:

I too was a fan of the now gone knife and coin show of shop at home tv.

I think I first saw Tom and Shawn back in the late 90’s. Tom was a much larger man than he now is and Shawn is still the same old Shawn.

I never saw any bad accidents but a few bandaid incidents.

Seemed like Tom was always being harassed about his favorite breakfast beverage. Sometimes you would almost think it was a breakfast of wild turkey.

I have the mullenium Daisho set with the furniture grade stand and certificate of authenticity.

    Shawn “440stainlesssteelandremoveablebeltbootandpocketclip”.

Here in Minnesota you can now see Tom And Todd boone on broadcast tv channel 41 after midnight on Fri, Sat. and Sun. nights. cutlerycorner.net

Trade in the gal for Sean and get rid of the rining phones in the background and this would be classic three stooges.

In fact I would look at their old reruns and not even need to buy a knife.

  167. Robert Merritt Says:

Hello this is Rob. Im actually Tom’s stepson and I also work in the studio with them. I set all the knives up for them to show. O and for all the prank callers, yes thee knives are sharp!! I cant remember how many times Ive cut myself now. Its a fun job though. O and the show is on cmt now also. 9:00p.m.-1:00a.m. Toms half of the show usually starts at 11. Wed., Fri., Sat., Sun., are the days. Ill keep in touch. Later.

  168. Brent Says:

Wow guys, well what can I say that hasn’t been said. First off I’m 23 years old and I got started watching this genius of a program at a friends house late one night. I remember him saying something like “You gotta see this shit, it’s a knife selling show and it’s LIVE!” Didn’t think much of it at the time but when I sat down I was hooked instantly. You can’t beat live TV people you just can’t, even better you definately cannot beat LIVE Tom O Dell. Anyway that was about 6 years or so ago and I forgot all about the show.…until I got cable this week!

Knife Show isn’t about the knifes at all, or at least not for me. It’s about hearing Tom use every crappy cheesy corny sales pitch in the book, and some before the book was written!

If you REALLY want to enjoy the show then my advice is before you sit down on the couch to watch (you won’t be moving for awhile trust me) grab your bong or 6 pack or 40 or whatever drug/stimulant of choice and just GO NUTS! (we don’t judge) I need to make sure I clarify that. If you’re a stoner then just bowl after bowl after bowl OR make a smoking/drinking game out of it. You CAN be sober to watch but It’s just THAT much better when you’re not, lmao. Potheads seriously if you have never seen this show you don’t know what you’re missing.…

Some of my favorite moments (that I can remember lol)

    - The one that sticks out to me is the first time I heard this: Now Tom is there anything else in this set that’s gonna make people pick up that phone? WELL TODD HOW BOUT A NINJA SWORD!?! I lost it, I mean I f*cking lost it.

    - Another one I remember is one of their giant sets of whatever, long story short it was “too good of a deal” so Tom kept telling us at home DON’T WAKE UP JERRY or BOB or whoever the boss was. I just thought that was funny, 5 minutes later they super impose it on the TV in a blue banner!!!

I could go on for awhile, but Tom is a hero man, for the late night stoner community and knife and ninja sword connoisseurs everywhere. It’s really cool to see that so much of us watch this show because like most of you I thought we were the only ones…

It says the show airs at 3:00 tonight (well technically Sunday) on ION whatever the hell that is. I’ve been looking for it on CMT and any other station late at night with “Pd Programming” on. I thought I used to watch it on F/X but I might be wrong. Are there any other stations it comes on during the week or am I doomed to only be able to watch on Sunday early mornings?

  169. Slartibardfast Says:

If anyone out there doubts Tom’s greatness, just look at this clip:

i miss the tom odell show and his antics as they were funny and desperate sounding.sean was the coolest soccer player turned host id ever seen and he didnt bs as much as the others did everyday.they all-odell and west would shout and say be dialen,be dialen as were selling out.major don west was hillarious and the beany babies were the best thing hes ever sold period.it was like a grizzly bear selling mittens lol.he was billy mays role model i think.he used to misrepresent alot of cards values or was mistaken possibly but i dubbed him and kenny golden the kenny and friends psychic friends network.they seemed to be smarter than the average bear with the unc jordans and that youd retire with the aid of many 1989 wax boxes purchased.unfortunately you didnt as they arent worthless by no means but nowheres near what you were promised.purely speculation on their part but it was a great time had by all as they would spout off until wee hours.limited editions cards they said but had a seemingly endless supply for over 2 years esp year 1.lastly hows can you take a card worth $1.30 cents and grade it as a 10 and then miraculously it jumps to $200?well idk but they could! maybe its worth $3-$8 now and maybe $10,$15,$20-$30 in future years/decades.they might even tell you that you will receive 2 gem sosa and mcgwuire cards that are sought after.yeah, they might come from a drakes box and be highly prized among middle schoolers and worth $1 each.there was plenty of great cards thrown in with worthless ones so you never made out properly if you stuck to basics.the exclusive packages were the ones that if you got rid of immediately once gotten in the mail youd easily double your money or make a nice profit anyways.but if youve waited until now with the exception of a few deals you got stranded and spent far too much on them.you might as well sell those auto.cards, rookie cards, gold cards, jersey cards, motion cards, ball cards, wax boxes at your local flea market and or ebay.but you might still get stuck with the majority of your goods as people realize the decline in them nowdays.alot of the stuff they were selling was just that, stuff! but one things for sure! it was a pleasurable shopping experience in some ways as it was comedic how theyd argue and say this cards gonna be worth $3,000-$4,000 –5,000 next year when its a $400-$500 card tops according to high rollers only and maybe $300 elsewheres.never increasing in value and now about 8 times lower in value today.worse is the fact that theres plenty of those griffeys, oops i said it so there, floating around.they abused the tiffany mcgwuires and as good/desirable as they were rare they arent close to what they were selling for then and now in my opinion. the folks over at kennys psychic friends are about as amusing as kenny rogers psychic friends on mad tv lol.but in the end theres nothing too too entertaining about getting taken to the cleaners provided they were out to do that to us,eddy

  171. edward bliss Says:

ok maybe i was a bit harsh with don and kenny as i dont hate them at all and they did offer lots of great cards and sets at huge savings.the blue chips were atrocious sometimes as you got nowhere what was promised in book.maybe some did but mine was like $300-$350 if im frigging lucky.they said $500-$600 or so.thats how it should stack up but it was about half that or 2/3rds at best in my case.thats not what they offered and said so do the math peoples.don went to tna and someone says hes the worst wrestling announcer in history but id think thats his true calling.weird if hes not good as a host but then again hes a seller and not really a vince mcmahon type.then theres a comment he had white residue powder underneath his nose in a youtube video.the way he was so wiry im not surprised if it was u no wut and not caffeine that kept him riding high.maybe he needed it to keep going but ill not assume its illegal anythings and just a rumor for now.they had nice deals but do you really wanna know how they did it all?by getting your hard earned moohlah and buying cheap from there wide list of vendors and passing on that savings to you.what they were really doing was taking a dollar from the piggie bank and putting a dime back in. don was brilliant however and like his apprentice, billy mays could sell you a white shirt and a jar of tomato sauce.he was the loudest guy on tv and mays a close second lol.kenny,if youre reading this as i hope you are,i did receive an awesome deal from you a couple times.but wheres my elvis 45 gold plated record framed/unused concert ticket combined deal from 2000 i paid for and never got?i paid for 3 deals and honestly got 2 but never the 3rd.you will receive,my ass ken.theres also the $100 rookie 1986 mcgwuire to which instead i got a 1987 topps $7 card.what happenned to you will receive?its not that im calling you a sucka u sucka but im the real sucka here u sucka.but its a carnival type program you ran and duped many unsuspecting folks.i say you guys were forced off the air as lawsuiters were feeling compelled to file a class action suit as i pondered.can you blame us?hows about the beatles suffolks downs unused concert tickets which don swore repeatedly was booking at $1,250?i looked it up finally in a rock n roll guide and it was $125-$150.maybe $175,$200,$225,$300,$325 tops to a desperate buyer.this is the juvenile ripoffing bs im talking about.while everyones praising you guys over here im both blessing and cursing as its rightfully and richly deserving and merited.i luv the old show and great deals but it was better all together if i had avoided them all together.how come kenny was always on the phone?because he was too busy laughing his ass off at all us idiots or a guilty conscience and probably in the next room.we never saw him ever until he had his own show.he was a great voice and a knowledgeable expert but misused and abused that talent/power ill accuse.he tried very hard to make money as anyone would.heres a quote from him in forbes mag,ill not stay in a business thats not profitable he said.well ill not buy into a biz thats a scam going on at least from time to time im saying to him.im not the only one griping and complaining, trust me fellas.go over to youtube or eopinion and youll see more good and esp bad press alot.far be it from me to whine so much as its past but i say if i had the same experience back then i do today id be 3 steps ahead of them.id buy only what i knew was a sure thing like the because we cans-the best in my utmost opinion and the 30 rookies in a 10 grade each.why did don/kenny exxagerrate to the point of ripping us off?because they could! how about the wax boxes like 10/$200 as those were pretty damn good at 1st glance but lots and lots of worthless cards and some fantastic ones in the mix as well as mediocre and commons running rampant i figure.no exp there in buying them but i did see them opened on the show dozens of times.i might be wrong but ill bet its just barely worth your time on most but not all of those deals.70%-80% on the high end ill bet in that sentence as an average stat. its better to buy 1–2 of those packages and if you sell them all ok thats great.but collectors im sure had them in groves already and dont need so many repeat cards.the rookies ok but if you sell just them you might make your money back and all the rest are not the greatest.you might double, triple, quadruple, fipple your money-5 times as its a word made up but you might not.id say how could you not sell big there and make it all back more than once but so much competition and its not like youll never see those cards going away.they will always be among us in the biggest quantities usually anyways ill sound off.its like mego star trek dolls from 1976 as theyll always be with us.if you see none this week youll see some next week or next month or next yeear but usually there available to would be buyers.last thing ill say is kenny claimed that he was losing far too much moohlah which ill get too in a moment.but first he is a bs artist most of the time.maybe almost subconciously but im sure his camp pointed out his flaws which were quite obvious.one being lelands and christys is 2 places that elite go to buy things and theyp ass on some items ill holla.regular folks like me dont buy/sell from there so we are at the mercy of a more down to earth reasonably priced seller.that however wasnt always foremost the case with mr golden.but he did redeem himself 1 particular night if he was being on the level which i think yes he was but idk sometimes.8 top auto.cards of shaq, bird, clemens, etc for $100! i didnt even get a chance to get it as it was sold out in no time.he was notorious for the bait and switch routine.its a professional shell game hed play and often times.another words is he turning a new leaf here or more of the same shenanigans?this is when he said hes got tax time coming up and owes some mean green.my words not his! he puts a 1986 fleer gem mint 10 michael jordan rookie card in a 4 card set for an unbelievable charitable like $1,000! it was the fleer 86 rookie,sticker,1989 unc b/w card, fournier estrellas card all 4 in pristine gem mint 10s.he promised all 4 and that the jordan was the real deal as it was psa dna graded.if that was a $25,000 card at the time wouldnt he just sell it for full price or at least $15,000,$18,000-$20,000 or so?heck even $5,000-$10,000,$12,000 is far better than $1,000 for it plus 3 other decint cards.i shit almost mesas pants as i wouldve rather had gotten that deal but i got ripped off with there other deals and shouldve saved up and stopped spending on the sucky, junky cards i bought.ok,thats $250 for it in this deal.but lets call that $500 by todays standards as the other 3 have gone way low in price.fournier idk as they get big money sometimes.but lets argue $500 today for that card in the deal minus the $500 in value for the other 3 and its a fair estimate ill consider.maybe off a bit but close i feel.so youre telling me hed sell a card worth $25,000-$30,000 at auction and always in demand for 50+ times less its retail price?was it a reprint as it couldnt be if its psa, right?did he ever send it out at all?too bad i didnt jump on that one as i wouldve made sure i got it with a lawyer even if possible! it might have been legit and whyso retardedly low ill never fathom.maybe if it was true he suddenly felt like the heel he was for a decade or more and threw us a pearl there, eddy

before the break ill say to kennys psychic friends network lol again that if a company gives you both good and not so good products on a continual basis theyre inconsistent and not practicing good business ethics to say the least.it cheapens the whole purpose.they did try and occasionally but not always bent over backwards to impress us viewers.a publicity stunt and some generosity thrown in too now that i think of it.just because i got some good deals on shop at home and wouldve gotten plenty more down the line doesnt mean i never got taken to the cleaners by kenny/don more than once.it was going to continue as i had that goldrush mentality so i luckily backed off.also i forgot they screwed us kinda sorta with a beany baby package and cheap gumball machine like baseball medallions saying they were so valuable as with the coin set from 1986 and the 1lb sack of wheat pennies in the mix.there was some stickers and some photos i think plus some other stuff to sweeten the deal.id compare its sweetness to that of grapefruit for at least half of the items.it wasnt expensive necessarily but i had much better things to spend my $80 on at the time.my fault but what the heck i figured.all in all we got some real nice get what you pay for items but they made it the deal of the decade those brats lol.the unfortunate thing is i hadnt the foresight to convert the mailbag styled sackcloth from the wheaties into a jason 2 mask and that wouldve been easily today a $100+ item alone.so maybe i need not criticize them fools too much.but on a liner note to them it was just a $3 sack.the coin set i was told was change but he was wrong-coin dealer as they are worth considerable amounts in uncirculated/laminated cond naturally.we got a flag and a glory beany-mcds and a couple other beanies so we might have not gotten ripped so grossly but i think we did to a point.today you can get a glory mcds promo beany for around $5 but in 1999 they were commanding $25-$30 some outlets and sold out practically everywhere so that was a nice item for its tenure ill not debate it.we got much much cheaper items than was offered as a whole and the cards were no named college amateurs/stars it appeared.if they went somewhere then ill bet we got a bargain in just them.but they didnt last i recalled and not a def on that line.look at it this way,ill rather have the mcgwuire $100 rookie which was promised but not delivered than 300 no names that are 10 cents each.$30 is better than nothing but a $100 card is $70 more and couldve hit $200-$300+ in no time back then.but im listening to them too much and will eat that comment as for now.hey i got 300 virtually worthless cards of players who could be your cousins.do you want to buy them?nope is the answer for about 87%-92% of the population if not more.but ask that guy if hed like a rookie mcgwuire card for $100 and hed jump on it back in its heyday.i planned on selling that 1 card to make up for my $80 spent and everything else wouldve been free.maybe a mixup and not on purpose but knowing them they mightve thought i wouldnt care or notice.well needless to say i did pay attention.it was the headliner of this deal and w/o it offered in the first place i may have passed on the issue.yeah its not that bad a shipment minus it and i didnt get stuck in the mud as bad as im saying here folks but its far more lucrative if they didnt go cheapo on us.im a broken record here again and its time to close.but i do hope that kennys psychic friends see my posts and respond maybe.its late to make good on my losses perhaps and that sucks but i got my feedback in to demonstrate how wronged i felt and still do.you get a good deal on merchandise youre always thankful.you get duped with junk you stop buying.kenny-don-etc made me stop being a loyal customer but not a loyal viewer.i didnt get deterred from tuning in and having some laughs and being informed at ripofflogy 101.i never tried their methods as its improper but ill bet id be rich if i did that formula of theirs on the web.ok guys im outtie and you will receive a nice hallmark xmas card kenny but it wont be a hallmark but a cheapo generic holliday card worth about 25 cents.hey gimme a break as its the thought that counts.a nice gesture i hope youll view it as too dear boy! its to say thanks for all of the wonderful memories and for saving me money, eddy

last post and ill 4eva leave as im all out of gas! too much negativity today on my behalf and its time to give more positive data.the knives show was the best.i have not 1 negative comment about it.the show was enlightening and it was funny to see burly men selling delta rangers for $1.87 each.ill take a bakers dozen guys.it was unreal the incredible bargains offered.you just had to have them and yes the lovely women hosts kept us looking.now im gonna be mean again, sorry, and say why wasnt kenny goldens psychic friends-i repeat this as they seemed to be so good at relaying false predictions of cards rising in value,so unlike the knives salesmen?they-knife guys didnt bs around and they used clever sales pitches.they didnt steal your wallet however.its too bad that kenny wasnt forced to sit through a training seminar with these guys.he may have developed good interpersonal skills and possibly a conscience! let me rephrase that statement as its too unfair.he may have developed an attitude of ok ill take your money but ill make you a satisfied customer for life.he knew the biz well and manipulated our pockets and our conceptions of money to the outermost extremes.he did have great commentary regarding athletes and knew alot of them from signings.i thought the world of kennys psychic friends and looked up to him/them for months and months but now i must look down.oh the shame of it all.ill invite kenny to respond to my blogs as im not the one who ripped me off, they did.ill refuse to hide as im not wrong but they are! the more kenny talked sometimes the more i became appalled at times.he did talk on and on and i was intrigued for months but i grew up fast.if he had been mildly like he was in 2005-better ethic and better bargains i wouldve came running back on bended knee begging for his biz but it was so short lived that ive a theory as to why.the viewers associated him with the ole bad boys network and took not too much stock into him or he forgot to pay his airtime.i speak on behalf of 1000s of loyal patrons who he did a whammy job too.its more than the chump change dollars-cents amount.theres a bigger picture here.what about our pride and his indifference to us padres?well thats up to them too to bark but i say that we all need to step up to the plate.he will think were unimportant nuisances now i say but were people too.i claim little psychic ability as was opposite with kenny formerly of kennys psychic friends network.but let me say openly and wholeheartedly to ken,i predict that if you sell nice stuff like was the shadow of your former self youll be back in the race.but if you make false claims and empty promises as well as emptying our wallets with your hoopla then youll go no farther id imagine.its like why go to you guys when theres topps, steiners, and ebayers who sell cards at a discount and what you see is what you get.i want to go in the nicest way and flatter you.you did offer up a star wars poster-protege of luke n leia cast as models many years ago-95 limited to 500 posters. its a true treasure at $100 as i know a guy who got one.i offered him like $500-$700 for it.its a nice piece.well, you ultimately travelled from tatoonie to the death star and went to the dark side.say it isnt so kenny of kennys psychic friends hotline! woe is me as im afraid its true of you and youre not my only hope as theres tons of more honest sellers.i think you could start off making ammends by giving ttm everyone who bought your whacky packages a check for $500 but only to fans of yours who got duped and or lied to.but ill cease that behavior as youd go bankrupt.so its your nature to be cunning and its mine to know about it.but ill accept no credit as your maverick attitude was out in the open for all of us suckas, oops i meant to say consumers to see! if kens got bona fide psychic ability then prove it right now to me.tell me how much money i made or wouldve made off of your phoney baloney drives in the late 90s and early 2000?answers minus profit.thats about how the cookie crumbles.its an unpredictabile business and kenny offered some hypothesis.hes a right to his opinion and never forced us buyers to pick up the phone.im not meaning to annoy him as i still think hes the greatest ever bs artist at what he does! i do feel its time for all of us oppressed pupils of kennys psychic friends to come forward in a mightily big way not to overthrow ken or put him down as we mean to lift him up.we really do.but how can we w/o tuff luv to the master of pickpocketeers, kenny golden-formerly of kennys psychic friends network.i want to leave but i am reminded of don lapre-smart man-con man as he bounced back with vitamins but we grew sick of that commercial.it sounded like a great product but it wasnt for the needy.thanks to kenny-formerly of kennys psychic friends network we all got the shaft.we envisioned being on a cruise ship rubbing elbows with him and telling him how much he helped pioneer the hobby and increase our incomes.but now id refuse to be a waiter on that same ship with him and would quit before serving him.hows that possible you say as its a contradiction?well since kennys the jet setter dude and so interested in us patrons he had collected id be complimenting him by refusing menial labor.id rather act the part of bigshot and larger than life just like my hero, ken golden.hes a cult hero status and worked smarter not harder to get where he is now.i feel we all should tell kenny what he means to us and no don youre not dismissed yet.ill ask that kenny n donny go and reinstate themselves at another shopping channel.it could be called return of the ripoff dead.or better yet the kenny and donnys psychic friends network! i surely hope they wont fight over whose name comes first as thats easy to unravel.ken comes premiered as hes started it all.he never wanted to leave shop at home or tv but found out that he was no longer a tv giant and mogul.he had so much potential and ambition but he threw it away.recapture that attitude of take no prisoners mr kenny as we miss youre revelations and alot of your sugestions have come to pass.you said that wed be selling tons of these jordan unc 1989 and 1990 cards in 10 years.congratulations old chap as you got that one nailed perfectly.yep were selling hordes of series 1 and series 2 cards as theyre so worthless esp series 2 that we need to stay afloat.so ill say that proves youre a psychic and im right in saying i should apologize to you for ever doubting your powers oh great one.you did offer a fantastic bonds special with the sand bat, game used bat and cocktail party ticket for barry with you in attendance.forget barry as id rather meet you.bonds cant make us rich but you and youre inquisitiveness can peak our motivations.kenny, you are w/o a doubt the most famous psychic in tv history.they got natta on you.you predict stuff and it comes out most of the time.but its not really as we expected its outcome.im optimistic though that the hordes of cheap cards you sold us all will be in high demand soon.if ken said it ill go with it as farfetched and ludicrous not to mention hail mary it sounds.its a good thing you were on the air all those years as i cant help but to pay homage to your skills.its not that youre always right kenny but youre never wrong in your predictions for our futures.i only accused you of a bs artist as youve got to be one to survive.id do the same thing if i were you but alot less frequency.thanks to you conning all of us for years youve given us the chance to make a livlihood with the boxes upon boxes of cards that not even a local would buy for more than a few lousy bills.but hey weve got ken on our side formerly of kennys psychic friends network and if he says theyll sell then believe you me theyll sell! it cant not happen as i believe in kennys mysterious vibes.lastly kenny how can 2 of the most gifted psychic mentors be on the same show? ill call that fate and maybe the word accomplice can apply.afterall this was the single most greatest duo next to laurel and hardy.i miss kennys networking live psychics who counseled me on sports, love, friendship,my cat,my dog,my wife,my finances.what would or where would we be w/o him and donny?in the gutter but although weve arrived there now its not for long as kennys intellectual insight will save us from ourselves.hes waiting on purpose to bail us out.its to promote character in each one of us disciples.but hes so amusing about it that it almost seems as if he cares not about his following.let the truth be known that kennys psychic friends rules the media and what they say goes for all of us.me,you, our children, our childrens children, theyre children, whew! bye bye kenny and donny formerly of kennys psychic friends channel wfxt-25 and thanks for thinking of us all.ill bet youre on an island sipping martinis as you took the money and ran.but thats ok as master of your flock you the right to do that.afterall its not long before our ships come sailing in as you promised 100s of times andwere on that same island with you.in the meantime send me a postcard from suckaville as a suckas born every minute.thanks psychic kenny and hope you get richer and richer regardless what happens to your confederates, eddy

sorry i lied and 1 paragraph and im throwing in the towel kenny.ill hope that when i go to sell my 1000s of worthless but not in my opinion cards as theyre from your vault that i only mention theyre from kenny and that 1 sentence lets the canary out of the cage.its not what you know but who you know kenny.we got you the ratings and you reward us with a friendly kick to the ass.but its only as to get our attention.well im all out of words an hour ago but these posts are for you kenny-formerly of kenny goildens psychic friends network.ill bid you farewell and i sees how you went to $100,000,000 or more in revenues.you are smart, gifted, had a helping hand-us suckas, but also us enthusiasts who like bargains while coming back for more great deals-honorable mentions are series 1,2 of unc jordan wax boxes.the greatest show on earth.im proud to say i was a part of kennys psychic friends network for quite some time.im in luv with the schemes of the fine folks of kennys pshchic friends who predict future sales and card values at over 90% accuracy and are so nice to have left the show as they want to give others a fair shake.if im right, chances are that theyll return to the shopping channels as we all miss them taking our hard earned monies for there private benefit.its an investment i now know as weve all sitting on a pile of hidden cash.trust in those fine psychics at kenny and donnys psychic friends network and as im not paid a dime to say this all these times i want to say it.they deserve it as theyre the best psychics and bs artists on tv.thats a big compliment as thats how they roll and its gotten us rich.well technically not yet but its gonna happen as i trust my best friends kenny and donny as two utmost competent psychics/mentalists ive ever seen.ive had the pleasure of getting ripped off by them but now know its reverse psychology tactics they employ.how can we make dough from others if we fail to give out our hard earned cash to kennys psychic friends hotline.theyre motto is give them a buck and they will turn it into 10 bucks.but youll not see it as its for a bigger cause, theyre wallets! im fine and dandy with that as its an investment.once we make trial monies off our supposedly worthless cards weve bought well make more money by investing into more cards to make even more revenue.hopefully well all become millionaires and drop kenny a personal note such as this one.i cant thank him enuff as hes still a huge driving force in my life.everytime i see a waxbox of worthless, cheap, valueless jordan cards from unc i think that its the start of my retirement and a brighter future for my family.all of this in part to kennys psychic friends network.ill hope to hear from anyone at shop at home esp kenny himself as ill want an autograph preferably on a check to me for reimbursement.thats a small token which id be honored and ill definitely put it back-the money into buying your meaningless cards which as a gifted psychic you promised would rise to mars.but take your time kenny as its the staff and not your misguidance. ccc301_1@hotmail.com

kenny and donny, ill confess that this entire blog of mine was a practical joke strictly for enterainment purposes.look how many times i mentiones psychic friends and bs artists and rambled on about wortrhless coal turning into diamonds!seriously and i repeat seriously kenny was a brilliant genious who i admired and still do but he did bs alot but then again its in his nature to.hes on tv and not someone across the street or in the park you met yesterday.alot of what i had written was a joke but alot wasnt.he offered tons of great deals on sports cards and other stuff to which none can argue! i was off kilter saying he only seldom had them deals.i meant to say he always had incredible cards but a good deal of time they werent the greatest stuff and so valuable.profitable ok but to an adult collector you got what you paid for.but with them you got that and then some ill add.im not joking about the unc jordans as theyre practically worthless compared to 10 years ago.but i feel kenny sincerely thought theyd go somewhere as they would sell out all the time.but the overhype on them was w/o a doubt the worst ive ever seen.the cards were guessed at rising in value and for a time did.they were on top for about 5 years, maybe less and for 2–3 years scored very well.but they are got for $20/each in gem mint 10.maybe not entirely worthless to a por collector but completely worthless to an investor who bought many boxes hoping to send his jids to college and then pay off that house and a car perhaps.im talking the big kahunav here ladies and gentlemen! nothing wrong with a twenty dollar bill everytime you sold a card you got for around $4-$5 but when you payed $30 for it and its since dropped to $20 youre screwed basically.maybe sell it for $30 to break even or a tad higher to profit.but these cards were promised to sell for over $20,000-$30,000/set or more if in bigger demand.now at that rate id be a rich man but well a millionaire at least once over with my cards and id be happy.but buyer beware as its not kennys fault or donnys but the nature of the hobby in general.im disappointed in not ken and don but the industry.thats ultimately whose to blame and the poor economy behind it too.im not saying im in full defense of ken and don as my letters dictate otherwise.but im giving them the benefit of the doubt as i didnt become wealthy by any stretch but i might at least double my moneyand basically no harm done.its good i dont have kids but i di have 2 youths in mind who i purposely saved cards for until they were old enough.they will survive somehow but i did try to help them out with the jordans.they seemed so good at the time that if i can reverse matters and say i was ken/don ill bet they being me/another wouldve came my way to buy them gems.its a very unpredictable hobby alot of the time as you dont know whats gonna be here today and gone tomorrow.what comes up must come down and its the same in the music industry.many times robert chambers would say that he wont promise youll get rich with your coins as thats not what that show was about.now thats a good sales pitch and violates no moral ethic code i can think of! i like that.don would tell you if you fail to but cards youd regret it.other way around sometimes.but he also said he estimates and didnt always promise the cards future value.hes just a guy and makes mistakes.hes a gambler who if listened to attentively might get you in the poorhouse.might make you some money too but its tuffs all im concluding here folks to be blunt.if youre not sure about cards then shut up saying theyll be this much later on.say you have no clue but a hunch youll profit big.don had an amazind deal at tna.an auto.sting black bat, auto.card, shirt and all for $175! thats the old don i miss as yes thats worth it at $300 to me.but then he does it again by saying its a $700 deal to him.talk is all it is and a rose is still a rose and wont change into a daisy.its like you telling me my big macs worth $15 when ill say its worth $3.50 as thats the price of it.thats alot for one btw as i liked them at 2/$3 years back.no hard feelings to kennys psychic friends network for getting us into the red as maybe ‚just maybe well see a turn of events soon with our chep cards we thought would rule the world.so far they havent ruled our dogs!

i forgot to ask something here which if they can prove it will get both kenny and donny not completely ok with me but alot ok with me if they do one thing?id like them to produce that price guide from 1999–2000 which stated the $2,500-$3,000 prices on those unc series 1 jordan college rookie cards from 1989.i never saw any such prices!they do that and it will establish some credibility with their high pressured sales tactics on tv off all places.the vinacular state of the cards is pennies on the dollar compared to what the prices said in those mags today.they might make a comeback as ill not say its impossible.theres so many out there that its a long time coming however.lastly as my arms gonna fall off they had coke stamped on them and were nice to look at.a guy said they werent but i liked their appearance.its like the say no to drugs cards that soar in value later to drop like a ruined cake.they were a charity drive so im glad we all helped out the school and ok that is.but what about my school and my wallet?maybe ive taken the fun out of this and got greedy.perhaps and its better to say that occurred here! but with the premise of $1,000s in revenue off of 1 card who can blame me?30 cards equals $60,000 while 300 equals $600,000 and 3000 equals $6,000,000.not overnight but in 5–10 years or 20 at most hopefully i was looking at those statistics! now everyone can see the method to my madness.its plain to see and thank you kenny of kennys formerly of kenny goldens psychic friends netwok.its been a trip guys, eddy
