Manipulate the sounds

When I was younger and had access to dubbing cassette decks and loads of free time on my hands, I used to create sound collages from bits of popular songs and television shows. For example, one I titled “Bob Bites Back” featured bits of Robert Smith of the Cure singing negative responses to other singers.

Jim Morrison: Hello.
Robert: Goodbye.
Stevie Wonder: I love you.
Robert: I hate you.

You get the idea…well, I was reminded of that today when I found the following link. It’s a “sound art project” where you type in a basic English sentence, then the computer creates an audio version of the sentence being “sung” by samples from various popular songs.

Quite interesting….

Let them sing it for you

haha Your idea for a sound collage with Robert Smith answering other sings negatively is awesome, Andrew! I tried to use the “Let them sing it for you” thing, but it’s not working here at work. I’ll try at home.
